after a lot of work on this freakin thing, i'm about to drop a new cassette release. I havent put anything out since the early quantity of 10 c-30 releases with the handmade covers that i used to hand out for free at shows to anyone who showed up. I guess i've got something coming up at shanty town, some weird noise show. If(though i doubt) anyone wants to come to jacksonville to hear/see me dress up as an eyeball with a sweater on, groaning at a kitchen table with a Nazareth album cover, talking in a boston cop accent(though maybe not that stylish), please by all means do so.
I hope to have this tape out for that show, which is on June 18th at shanty town pub.

this tape is weird.
and i am currently trying to stop bugging out, and trying to decide whether i should finally just release a chicken jolt 7" and heave it into the world with its slobbering mad eye scowling and cracking an egg onto your shoulders, burden though it may be. I will have saved up the money in the next 2 weeks time. its just a matter of whether i want to or not at that time..though it has been a thing i've really wanted to do for a pretty long time. since maybe 2002? when i first started getting records of current bands(or then current, whatever)
we'll see how that goes. i've never had the money and considered it, so...i guess its time to finally decide if i should make the audio equivalent of sitting in a chair reading ingredients to stroganoff.
I will update with the progress of that project as it comes. and the tapes too. i'll post an image of the tape (clear yellow tapes with inserts and stuff) whenever i find my camera adaptor or by a new one.

i am sick of this concept. which is funny, given that i just used "I"...a term normally associated with the ego,
as in "I want more money and success"
but using this, i am referring only to my SELF, not my ego.
The ego is a construct. it goes hand in hand with personality, which is also a construct. There is a definite, tangible difference between the SELF and the PERSONALITY/EGO.
The self deals with passion
the ego, with desire.
there is a definite difference between these as well.
everyone in the world is so centered on themselves, selfish, belligerent, etc.
We, as one self, meaning the entire world, could use our thoughts and energy to one cause, which would be betterment of the human experience as we currently know it.
but instead, "WE", meaning the collective egos of the entire population of earth,
are so caught up in doing things only for ourselves, how can we benefit, whatever the cause to the other beings on this planet? Who cares if it causes harm? It helps ME! I don't want to share, because then someone ELSE would benefit from something "I" did!
The self is real, and it is the actuality of the being in which it inhabits.
The personality is just a facade, is made up and reinforced by the ego.
the self makes art in pursuit of passion and inspiration, regardless of what anyone thinks or says. this is actual art. it is not ego-driven, it is pure, it is the true manifestation of the artistic SELF.
the ego makes art in pursuit of "People will think i am neat after I make this! I will be more popular! people will like ME!"
this is why i get mad when hipsters get rich for their shitty exploits. Its not that I am jealous, because I am not famous,
it is because what the hipsters in question(or any other dilettante scum) are helping build this giant ego blob that is gradually smothering the earth.
In conclusion,
if one is making art driven by the self, by passion and inspiration, then YES!!! this is what we need more of.

| i am slowly realizing that my bank account is too slow to develop for a lot of the projects i want to undertake. i'll probably never be able to save enough money to press a record, and if i had enough money anyways, would i really want to press one? maybe.. i don't know. it's not like i'm sad about it, but it can be kind of depressing. I guess it's just tapes for me forever! until they stop making tapes, then it's whatever.
writing all these impromptu books is really fun though. i've been getting single copies printed so i'll have stuff to read, i never proofread any of it, i just print it out and read it afterwards. i'll probably end up giving them away after i'm done reading them. it's just interesting to have an artifact like a book, they are very strange if you think about it.
i just really like writing weird stream of consciousness stuff about helium and how it enriches our society.
oh, and about bricks too. and cupcakes.
but mainly helium.
i'm finally getting out of this intense funk i was in about 2 months ago. i was having anxiety attacks, mostly due to what would probably be best described as "acid flashbacks". up until about 2 weeks ago the anxiety was still fairly bad. now it's dwindling away.
my advice to everyone reading this(if that is anyone, indeed., hahahahahahahahahahahaSHARK),

| So i've been constructing weird books lately, one of illustrations and a lot of writing, the other with 214 pages of randomly generated prose which is pretty creepy and also kinda rules in some ways. I'm making a book right now where i dictate incredibly strange thoughts into a microphone into my computer, the program actually composes a text copy of everything you say. it's not verbatim though, and kind of comes out really weird and with lots of words mashed up. you can listen back to the wavs though to correct it. It's gonna have a cat on the cover.
i'm doing good here in jacksonville, i live with my girlfriend Elise who is wonderful, and i pretty much just work and do art nowadays. trying to calm down from all the weird things i did last year and recuperating physically and psychologically.

| i've sort of decided to put the record idea on the backburner, focusing on recording something extremely solid and to my utmost liking, saving the $$$ and pressing the real deal, i don't want a slipshod, off the cuff, random recording put onto vinyl. I'm going to go for one of the United plant specials, probably going to spend upwards of $1000 to release around 490 records. possibly a 10", those are my favorite format and i don't think enough people release quality 10" records, the majority are shitty screamo bands that might as well just stick their dick in a blender as opposed to recording music, it'd at least sound a lot better. I sort of have a concept i've been mulling over in my brain, but i must first try and record something that astounds me. Like i just said i don't want to spend that much damn money on something that i don't have 100% confidence in. I realize that i can create something pretty good, or damn good. I like the stuff i've been creating recently, it's way more free flowing, and MUCH more psychedelic(in the actual sense of the word, less in the sense of 60s psych rock and stuff like that, though i do enjoy that type of thing very much). And i'd much rather people enjoy something that i put out, rather than just have them go "hmm, that was kind of interesting..fuck it, whatever, let me get out this [whatever record they like better] and jam it heavy style". Fuck that, you know?
So its gonna take a LOT longer considering i have to save up and pony up the big dough, but i don't really care as long as the end product really rips. Rips like RIPS, not rips a fart or anything. In other news: one record pressing plant sent me an astronomical quote, another one informed me they have no colored vinyl at the moment(FUCKED!) and others havent even replied! FUUUCK THEM!

i have found a place that masters for way cheaper. Probably a bit lo-fi, but it will make the option of pressing a full LP much more realizable. Edition of probably 100 copies. The sleeve decorating party is definitely going to happen. I will set up a time so if anyone actually wants to come out and draw some weird stuff all over some cardstock LP sleeves then so be it. I am gonna try and get some weird ass splatter colored vinyl as well for that ultra gunk look.
i will continuously post with updates on the recording, mastering, shipping and everything else of the album, as it is my super ultra projekt as of right now.

| | i just had one of the most bizarre psychedelic experiences of my life, via eating 20 robitussin cough gels. Swirling, brilliant colors. Nothing like lsd, but MAN. This kicks mushrooms in the balls. I've drawn pages of intricately patterned freakish beings...flying castle people and all kinds of other crazy shit. And i saw some of the most brilliantly coloured psychedelic induced visuals that i've ever seen. Barking dogs dancing while multicoloured flourescent pulsating lights twirl around the room, and ebb and flow. Feelings of motion when you are completely still. immense tactile hallucinations. Lots of hilarious thoughts/ happy thoughts. less scary than acid. Bizarre daydream like phenomenon. Lifelike peripheral vision hallucinations.
